I think it's the "Sonic Cycle" up to its tricks again. People start to pile negatively on a Sonic game from previous years, and Mania is going through it. Bet to you Frontiers will in a few years or maybe even its DLC comes out. I do like Sonic Mania. I love the music, I don't mind the reused level themes, and the special stages are probably the best in the series. Most of my negative feelings towards it come from my first playthough because it did not give me the greatest first impression. I have come to like the game more on future playthroughs, but I still remember my first time the most vividly. Mania is still alright for me, it's just a whole lot of minor issues clumping together to sort of soil the experience slowly, but not majorly. The overall experience isn't horrible, but slightly plagued by smaller issues. |

Some of mine:
1) Sonic 1 has the best Sonic sprite.
2) SA2 isn't that good. SA1 is so much better.
3) Sonic CD is an amazing game (not necessarily a hot take but it is kind of divisive).
4) Sonic 2 sucks.
5) Sonic 3&K is great, but the art style is just not. S1/2's art style clears.
6) Modern Sonic really doesn't do it for me. I connect way more with Classic Sonic tbh.

Sonic R is better than mario kart (all of them), 06 isn't THAT bad, sonic never "fell off"

Sonic 06 is in fact a great game everybody should play, even if you’re playing Legacy of Solaris or even P-06 by ChaosX if that take isn’t hot enough then....uhhh Shadow the hedgehog is a fun game worth your time Track 10 slaps harder than Mystic Cave 2P The super theme in Mania isn’t good (I’d rather use the code to disable the super music) |

I actually quite like marble zone's slower pace, it's a nice change of pace (pun intended) and I found labyrinth zone ok to play through, not great, but not terrible, but the boss section can go commit Lego step.

Sonic Colors is overrated.
Sonic Forces was overhated, it's not good but it isn't as bad as 06.
Sonic Mania isn't really replayable, sure it's really good but it also has really few original zones. Also Encore Mode sucks.
