(This is a repost of one of my old mods onto the new forums) This is a simple mod that allows you to have different themes for each character. It is inspired by a similar idea from Megamix Mania (as well as the original Sonic Megamix by proxy). You choose between the new audio definitions or the vanilla Sonic 3 AIR sound keys. The following can be customised: * Act Clear * Special Stage Clear (Uses the same themes as Act Clear; you can also choose to use the Sonic CD US Zone Clear jingle) * Invincibility * Extra Life * Super Theme * Hyper Theme * Game Over * Speed Shoes Here's some (rather subpar) footage of (an old version) of the mod in action:
By default, Sonic's themes are from Sonic Mania, Tails' themes are ripped directly from the Retro Engine version of Sonic 2, and Knuckles' themes are from Knuckles Chaotix. Every character's credits themes however are their theme songs from Sonic Adventure. Mighty is also supported! Themes from SegaSonic the Hedgehog will play if you are playing as either Ultimate Mighty or Extra Slot Mighty. They can also be changed using audio replacements! Be sure to load this mod first when using compatible mods. The soundkeys can be found in the mod files for those who would like to use it.
Feel free to make addons or customisations as long as you respect the GNU General Public License v3.
NOTE: If you think that Sonic's themes are too loud, there is an additional 7z file in the mod's extras folder that contains quieter versions.

Is this at all going to have support for extra slot amy/ray/shadow? I would like to see that.
I would imagine amy having cd or R music while shadow having well.. Shadow or Heroes music
Ray. I dunno tho. It's kinda hard to decide when he hasnt been featured in many games

Is this at all going to have support for extra slot amy/ray/shadow? I would like to see that. I would imagine amy having cd or R music while shadow having well.. Shadow or Heroes music Ray. I dunno tho. It's kinda hard to decide when he hasnt been featured in many games I'm working on it. Ray uses a mixture of Sonic GT and remixes of Sonic Mania tracks, Amy's getting the Japanese/European soundtrack from Sonic CD and Shadow is getting stuff from his game.
I've got a functioning implementation of Shadow's stuff, but Ray causes the speed shoes to break for whatever reason (maybe because they modify the same functions?). I also don't have access to that code right now since I'm in a different location to the PC that I wrote it on.

There’s a bug where when you get an extra life, all the music turns off Seems like Sonic1Up.ogg magically disappeared. I've updated the ZIP and the repository, so it should work now. I've used this as an opportunity to backport a fix from the next version while I'm at it. |

hey. I have a small problem with your mod. Its not a biggie but if you could edit the mania tunes for sonic to turn the volume down that would be greatly appriciated. I have to turn the sound lower whenever I get an invincibility monitor as sonic or something simillar to that and now its starting to bug me.
Also, I don't know if you know this yet. But ES Amy uses Tails's themes whenever you play as her (not that I'm complaining)

As for why Extra Slot Amy is playing Sonic 2 music, it's because Amy is internally Tails.

Updated the mod!
I've fixed an issue where Sonic's super themes used the same config as his hyper themes (instead of using the dedicated super theme config option). I have also added an additional 7z file within the mod's extra folder that contains slightly quiter versions of Sonic's themes.

What a good mod, will it have a new update with support for Amy and Ray? They've got support in the WIP branch on my GitHub repository. All it really needs is the audio to be looped and they could be released, but I find looping audio to be incredibly draining so I've been putting it off for way too long.
