Is sonic 3 & knuckles the peak classic sonic game do you think?

i'm sure of it, for me this game easily surpasses Sonic 1, 2 and CD, both in aesthetic and gameplay things, but also the way a good story is told without the game telling you one word.
this is the peak of classic sonic games, Mania is just a retrospective, and Superstars is something that tries to replicate the formula but clearly fails

Sonic 3 & Knuckles is cool to play, but there comes a time when I eventually get bored and have to play something else, so I can play more tomorrow, and I keep repeating this until it becomes an infinite loop where I keep challenging myself to do alternative things, like, winning 999 rings using the bonus and succeed or fail miserably.
