HEY YOU!
YEAH, YOU!
Do YOU like playing or recording videos on Sonic 3 A.I.R., but wish you could add some filters over it for that added nostalgia value, or just to screw around and see what happens, but are also too lazy to put together presets yourself? Then do I have the winrar folder for you!
Okay funny jokes aside, here's a little explanation for how and why.
SO, there's this program called ReShade out there that lets you run external shaders over your games. Basically just puts a funny filter over the screen for it. I use this sometimes when I feel like running a few filters over a game for added immersion (or just because I wanna see how much I can make my eyes seek the sweet release of oblivion)
Anyways, since I use it, I decided to put together a few of the presets I made to hand off to you lot for your own uses, be it just personal amusement or video making, I care not which. (Instructions for installing Reshade to run on S3AIR are below in case you need them.)
Now then, as for what exactly you've come here for, the display of the presets. As well as a silly little "sales pitch" for each of them, lol
Example 0: Blank
A blank preset, with no shaders active. (Not packaged with presets.) This is how vanilla S3AIR looks. This is also showing the menu for ReShade for those who don't know what it looks like.
Preset 1: 200X
I'm sure quite a few of us remember the earlier days of video content, back when videos had to be 100mB in size, and got compressed to hell and back. Well, with the mystical power of JPEG ARTIFACTS, we can relive those times of things looking absolutely terrible but still bareable! Don't you just feel nostalgic already looking at these images? It's like we never left those days!
Preset 2: Coolflavors
Probably not one you'd want to actually play a game with, for some reason it reminds me of those old soviet era russian posters. You know the ones. I'm sure this has to appeal to somebody, though who that somebody is I'm unsure of. At the very least you might be able to brag to your friends about playing the most aesthetic version of S3AIR there is!
Preset 3: Shittyvideo (also known as VHS 1)
The first of our offerings to take us back to the days of VHS home video. One of the slightly more hardware-intensive ones (by which I mean my computer fan got slightly loud when using this one), this is sure to send a shiver up the spine of anyone who tried to record their playthroughs of Sonic 3 & Knuckles on the home VCR back in the Dark Ages.
Preset 4: Shittyvideo Dampened (also known as VHS 2)
"Pixel," you might be saying, "didn't you literally JUST show us this?" To which I say NAY, oh great doubters of magic, for you see THIS visual effect has SLIGHTLY LESS color shift to it! Yes indeed, if you were not a fan of the last effect, then have this slightly less intensive, and more color-accurate version. Consider it the Diet version of our last offering! All the flavor, none of the carbs!
Preset 5: Dampened (otherwise known as VHS 3 & Knuckles)
What? You want MORE VHS??? What are you, a lunatic? We already gave you the diet version, what more could you want?! Diet Decaf? Now that's just absur- hm? Oh, I'm getting word the eggheads in the lab just finished exactly that. Oh well, now let's see here... Did you like some of the color shifting of the first VHS effect, but just wanted to tone it and a few other effects down? Well now's your chance to do just that! Mmmmm... the colors look so smooth...
Preset 6: VHS Wobble
Disclaimer: This one looks best in motion, which is hard to capture with still images.
YOU'RE STILL NOT SATISFIED????? Jeez, you really ARE a tough crowd. Well, I guess I'll have to break out the big guns. The most intense effect on this list, both for your hardware (the fan whirring scares me), and for your eyes! That's right! We're putting MORE caffine in! MORE sugar! By the end of this you'll be on the sugar high to end all sugar highs! Nyahahahaha!
Link To Presets: ~ooOOOooo fancy google drive link~
(I should note that I wouldn't suggest running S3AIR with shaders if your computer of choice leans more on the potato side. Guessing from the sounds of my laptop fan, these can be slightly intensive.)
Anyways, I hope you enjoy!

Installation of ReShade & Presets:
Disclaimer: ReShade is not a mod or anything of the sort, it's an external plugin that runs parallel to your game, so I suggest you use a second copy of S3AIR for this.
As for installing, simply download ReShade, run the program, and find your S3AIR executable of choice. Real simple.
S3AIR runs on OpenGL, so select that option, then continue to the plugins. I suggest clicking all of them, just so you have whatever you might need or want.
Once selected, just go through the lists and whatnot to make sure you've got all you want, or just skip that.
When that's done, simply drag the preset files I've linked here in the same folder as your S3AIR executable, and you're pretty much done.
