Would it be possible to add his projectile attack from Sonic 2? Maybe as a Super form ability to keep it from being too OP sort of like Sonic's unused ring move in S3 I just think it would be really neat Either way though great mod!

Love this mod, but FYI for those using it that Falling Sprites for All and Spring Twirl both conflict with this mod so I had to base the functions to ignore this slot. I also (sloppily) integrated the Health Meter functionality to Mecha Mk1 from sonic3air.boards.net/thread/457/1-6-update-health-meter which is a lot of fun!

An update, I've done a lot of tweaking to the mod locally. I know I'm not the creator, but hopefully these changes will inspire others (and I can share some tips if you'd like, I'm borrowing elements from other mods and not releasing anything for promotional or commercial purposes anywhere)
1) Fixed the save portraits and 1-up monitors 2) Added icon to Level Select 3) Removed drowning and water checks 4) Increased Y-acceleration and decreased falling speed 5) Added proper spring twirl and falling sprites entries 6) Added signpost and animation 7) Added health meter functionality, Mecha does not ring spill and will only die after a predetermined number of health points are exhausted 8) Redid the snowboarding sprites 9) created a basic intro cutscene
Other items I'm looking into:
1) Have Mecha use the boss flash and sound effect when hit 2) Improve the healthmeter HUD 3) Reimplement the bounce technique 4) Add slot machine icons 5) Have Mecha explode into gibs upon death

I see the superstars animations, but sincerely I think they are very inconsistent, in example, the walking animation is a bit weird because mecha is very robust, so I just have an idea, I only know other robust robot, heavy the mechanic, so I made mecha walking animation just like the heavy animation (I want to show you the animation but I don't remember how to put images here )
