I'm new to this site so I have no idea what the little thing in the corner of my profile is for, mine is a ring and other people have things like Star post and Super Mecha Sonic, is it a level thing or its customizable?

That's a post rank. It changes based on how many posts you've got. They don't actually do anything beyond that and can just be ignored.
