I found the PPZ2 boss to be really tense (partly because I did it with no rings and one life) and was probably a high point of the game for me. S3D2D honestly isn't that great (the levels honestly felt quite bland and they often outstayed their welcome - RRZ2 in particular felt like I was going round in circles), but the boss fights are definitely a high point. I'd say that I liked the majority of them.
