After literally 5 years, 1 demo, a Samsung A03 warranty, and countless sleepless nights... it's FINALLY here!
This is an Audio mod, that adds an approximate of 6,664 Options, these options add:
1. A LOT of remixes of all soundtracks & jingles. (And tracks from other games too!)
2. Customization for certain Jingles and SFXs, allowing you to play a remixed versions of them, or turn them off entirely.
3. New SFXs Options.
4. Customization for VERY specific situation, for example Competition Results/Records, Blue Spheres Main menu, Post MHZ2 Act clear (Zone Transition), etc... (Too many to list here)
5. And much, MUCH more content!
This Mod has a total of 1,170 audio files, and 32,929 lines of code, and 1,785 lines of documentation...
And these options aren't just 3-4, no no no, There're some that have +35 options for just ONE.And I collaborated with RetroReboot; therefore you can play the amazing Remake OST by him in this mod!
I have also added complete compatibility with the Sonic 3 Alternate OST - Complete mod, if you already have it, put it under Audio Overhaul (V2.3), and you can choose the Alt OST(s) tracks from Overhaul's options! (It's basically getting the S3&K OST Remake treatment)

Made a smaller version of Overhaul called dubbed, the Lite Edition, for the storages that can't handle a ~2 GB mod, this edition has made big cut to decrease the mod's size. Read the manual for more info.

The Sonic 3 Complete: Alt OST Mod is now COMPLETELY compatible with Audio Overhaul, to the point were it's being treated like the Expansion Pack, except that it's not an Audio Overhaul-Extension Pack, if you already have that mod, you can just choose and play its Music using the Audio Overhaul options!
Added compatibility with "Proto OST Pick by Character". this was requested quite some times.
Introduced 8 whole, new, custom achievements for the Achievements Plus mod!
Doubled the amount of options for Invincibility options, Emerald Jingles options, Act Clear, Extra Life.
Now, all of the modded Sped-up tracks (*track*_fast) are intentionally hidden from the Soundtest, if you're using update 24.01.07.0 or above, regardless if you have DevMode on or off.
Made a new, very important option called "Levels Options Overrides", and it's at the top of the options list, this was requested A LOT.
Made 3 whole new categories of options, and made 10 new options for the first category, and 4 for the second.
Made a new option that fades out the Main Boss Music, and lets you play Big Arms' Theme after the first phase of the LBZ2 Boss for Knuckles!
Made a new option called "Post LRZ2 Boss Defeat".
Made a new option called "Dev Messages".
Made a new option called "Death Ball No. of Hits -DEZ2-". (You can probably tell that I'm not a huge fan of the DEZ2 Death Ball boss fight... The Default value is set to 8 hits though (Vanilla amount))
Made a new option called "Egg Golem No. of Hits -SOZ2-". (Same thing with the previous...)
Made a new option called "After Clearing Blue Spheres" because APPARENTLY I'm the ONLY one that thought it the Music Fades Out after collecting all of the Blue Spheres! (Turns out, there never was any Fading, even in the original S3&K)
Now, there're SA2 SFXs options, alongside the SCD ones, customizable for all characters!
Fixed a bug where when setting the proto options to vanilla handling, they default to the non-proto tracks. (Thanks Knight Terror!)
Fixed a bug where the animals in the AIZ1 Knuckles intro were having visual glitches.
Fixed a bug where some SEGA Jingles options didn't work.
Fixed a bug where the "S/T Vs. Mecha (Phase 1)" option was affected by the "S/T Vs. Mecha (Phase 2)" option.
Fixed some bugs of the SSZ bosses themes options.
Fixed a bug where the 3'Mixed option for the HPZ Knux was missing, despite being in the options menu.
Fixed a bug where the CNZ, ICZ & LBZ level music, if set to Vanilla and it was modded or the player chose the S3 Prototype in the Vanilla S3AIR settings, it would straight up not work and play the unmodded Final (S3) Music, regardless of ANYTHING.
Fixed a bug where the "Eggman Retreat -DEZ2-" option, wouldn't work if it has never been changed of its default value.
Fixed a bug where the "Fire Breath Cutscene -AIZ1-" option wouldn't work, and would instead be the same as the "Fire Breath Cutscene -AIZ1-" option.
Fixed a bug where using the Sonic CD's drowning jingle will prevent the muffled underwater music option from working. (Thanks a lot Banana&Coco!)
Fixed a bug where if the Player returned to an area of FBZ2 that's before the Laser Trap Boss (restarting from the Pause Menu), and the Post FBZ2 Laser Trap is enabled, then the Post FBZ2 Laser Trap Music choice would play over the actual FBZ2 Level Music.
MUCH Better compatibility with other mods! ESPECIALLY Title Screen-related ones! Audio Overhaul was literally using 4 YEAR OLD Title Screen code!
Significantly better Music-Fading for the "Bombing Sequence -AIZ2-"!
A bit more better compatibility with the Fabchaotix Fang, specifically with the FBZ Cutscene -MHZ2- option. (Thanks Timer!)
Better SCD Skidding SFX looping, now it sounds like its actually directly ported from SCD.
FINALLY managed to add a "Continue Level Music" option for most Knuckles Cutscenes! (This was heavily requested, thanks a lot, DaKingOfCheckerz!)

Restored some cool custom parts of the 3'Mixed tracks, FBZ1 - Modded B, FBZ2 - Modded B, FBZ2 - Modded F, HCZ2 - Modded A, Hidden Palace (Proto Sonic 2 - Modded B), DEZ1 - Modded A, DEZ1 - Modded B, DEZ1 - Modded C, DEZ2 - Modded C, and S&K Invincibility - Modded A.
Removed: S2-S3 Main Boss Hybrid, DEZ 2 - Modded E (V3.0), and Mega Collection (Genesis), as no one listened to them.
FBZ1 Modded C and F turned out to be just duplicates, oops, so Modded F has been changed to an entirely different new remix.
Fixed a notorious bug where if the player enters a level through the Act Clear tab, chooses a Pause Music option prior, pauses, then exits out of the main game, both the Pause Music and Level Music would play at the Act Clear tab.
Now the Pause Menu Music options are ordered properly, and play the correct track.
The 5th Easter Egg now works properly.
Changed the S1 Credits (RMX).
Changed the Data Select D.
Changed the HCZ2 - Modded D.
Changed the FBZ1 - Modded G.
Changed the S3 Mini-Boss - Modded C.
Changed the S1 Credits (RMX).
Changed some default values.
Replaced SOZ1 - Modded E with an instrumental version of "The Palace Was Found" (Sonic and The Secret Rings), and SOZ2 - Modded F with Mega Man ZX Tunes OST - T22: Misty Rain (Area I - Imprisonment Facility). (Keep in mind that SOZ1E and SOZ2F where just the Genesis versions of the Tracks I mentioned previously, not SOZ1 and SOZ2 remixes respectively)
Fixed wrong credits and added missing ones in the Credits.txt file.
Wrote A LOT more stuff into the Manual.
This update took the longest, recollecting the tracks, remixes, SFXs, and Jingles, replacing all of said audio, coming up with looping points, and the volume-adjusting really, really took a loooong while, keep in mind that all of these tasks are done manually, by just one guy, me . _.
As a result of this grand Audio-revision, some looping points are significantly better, as well as the volume of quite a lot of tracks.
The Sped-up tracks are now hidden due to the fact that the Sound Test is *already* pretty GINORMOUS, you wouldn't want to waste half the time you wanted to listen to something scrolling, would ya?
Unfortunately, the artist "tai undead (stardust)" deleted all of their content while I was through the process of recollecting the tracks, so some of those tracks have been replaced with new remixes.
And finally, the greatest feature of this update is... Monty's Jukebox!
Monty's Jukebox is a really useful feature that allows you to change the Level music on the fly, without having to change any actual options.
How does it work: By pressing the L or R buttons, you'll be able to cycle through a list of tracks, with respect to the current level/game mode!
This feature is automatically enabled by default, it can be disabled with just an option, it's located at the bottom of the Options List.
The concept of this feature is (of course) made by Monty (montydoesgames), however, I'd like to say that my and his versions are radically different; because they serve different purposes, still! Pretty cool feature to eradicated the common complaint of "Sound Test too looooooong"!
The better Menu navigation system of the recent updates of S3AIR really came in clutch, ESPECIALLY for this mod!
The new Discord Presence options is so BONKERS and nuts, I added WAY TOO MUCH stuff, with this option on, I want you to be the coolest kid in town!
Thanks to the new icons, specifically the 16x one, I think it's fair to give this mod an acronym, either AUO, or AO. (I prefer AO)
-S3&K OST Remake (Extension Pack) V1.2-
Higher quality tracks, recollected them from the original mod.
Now the Knuckles remakes are next to the Knuckles tracks (in the S3AIR soundtest) instead of the Major Boss ones.
The Extra Life remake now work correctly.
Slightly tweaked the 16x Icon to have that AUO label; to be visually easier to differentiate between this Extension Pack and the Standalone mod.
Now the mod is compressed in a zip, before that it was in a .7z (.zip can be used on all platforms, unlike .7z)
The mod folder has a custom icon, however it's a Windows exclusive sadly.
The Remake version of Sandopolis 2 (Fast Version) was corrupted, now that's been fixed.
The S3 and S&K Mini-Boss themes, and the Major Boss theme now have their respective sped-up versions that would play in the Speed-Shoes effect is active. (The Major Boss doesn't play the sped-up version normally, BUT due to it being able to be played in Act 1s Mini-Bosses (AO options), it would trigger it, so just in case.)
Changed the S3 Remake Mini-Boss soundKey from "18_remake_b" to "18_remake_s3", and the S&K Remake Mini-Boss soundKey from "18_remake_a" to "18_remake_sk".
