I'll go first.

My favorite emerald color is green. Hell, my favorite color in general is green. Do not ask why. I just think seeing a Chaos Emerald properly colored green like a real emerald makes more sense.

What are yours, and why?

(Yes, this was inspired by the first question in 2022's Sonic Twitter Takeover marketing Sonic Frontiers, for anyone asking.)

I see That DAMN Fourth Chaos Emerald as being yellow, so I associate it with Shadow. With that said, Green is the default colour I think of when it comes to the Chaos Emeralds.
