In Sonic 3 (& Knuckles) , the title card had little icons behind the act number for every zone. despite this, the icon was always of a little palm tree, even though palm trees only appear in the first zone of the game, Angel Island Zone.
Sonic 3 complete, a romhack that aimed to improve the original game experience, changes this so that each zone had its own unique icon by the act number on the title card.
this mod brings over Sonic 3 Complete's unique zone icons, through a combination of modifying scripts and raw data or custom sprite keys.
through the mod options menu, there's a toggle to restore some unused icons from the original romhack. if turned off, the result is identical to Sonic 3 Complete. while turning the option on restores some additional unused icons for zones with a single act (Hidden Palace, Sky Sanctuary, Doomsday Zone). these icons were edited from the originals to remove act numbers.
