theyre all the samePersonally, the generation I replay the most is the first. The other generations are fine, I just don't play them nearly as much for a couple reasons. Gen 1 is the generation I know inside and out, it's the one I have the most familiarity with, but the length of the games also play a big part in this for me. a Gen 1 playthrough typically doesn't last too long, Gen 2 feels bloated with Kanto (especially how nobody besides Blue and Red offer a decent challenge there), Gen 3 becomes a bit of a chore for me after Norman's gym, and so on and so forth. I'm not going to bore you explaining my opinion on every single generation. So my answer to what's the best mainline game would be Pokemon RBY (at least it's the one I have the most fun with). But the best Pokemon game ever made to me is Explorers of Sky. Play it, you can thank me later. |

Look.
I dont like pokemon, bcuz late game pkmn feels like a chore to do.
But man, i love fire red.

Black and White 2 is the best imo.
But Heart Gold and Soul Silver have a special place in my heart.

That's a hard question tbh, I have a special place in my heart for HGSS, but Platinum is amazing, and Gen 5 are also flat out amazing. Legends Arceus is high up there as well but not my one of my all time favorites though. |

I'm between HeartGold/SoulSilver & Black/White Version 2
HGSS for the nostalgia and fun I had as my first Pokemon game, and B2W2 for the story, expansive Pokedex at the time, events that were out like Keldeo & the Gen 4 shinies, etc.
