I think that's an issue with your game? I personally haven't experienced myself. I disabled every mod except ECSU and Ray, and it still happens. It's when I do a max dive and then raise back up. Upon further investigation, this might be an issue with the glide sfx looping. I'll have a fix ready for it soon.

Just a couple small things but Ray seems to not get along with arifkunviid's tails. When you try to fly as super/hyper tails, the sprites for the… Tails… Miles’s tails stay the same as base Miles while the rest of the sprite is normal. This causes his tails to be detached from his body and it’s a little weird weird. Also for some reason, when using controls unchained Ray doesn’t do the animation for the upwards air boost. This only happens when the mod is above ray, but I can’t put it below him either because then the mod doesn’t work for mighty since if I put it below ray it’s also going to be below mighty. I don’t know what you can do about any of this or if you’ll bother, but I thought I’d share.

Sounds like you have a mod conflict. What that mean It means you have two mods in your loader conflicting with each other. Probably because they use the same code, or because one is supposed to be underneath.

Update: It seems like the mod doesn't base the function, Character.updateUprightOnGround(). If you could inform the creator of that mod of this issue, that'd be great. This would not only affect Ray, it could affect other character mods.

And you’re right about it affecting other characters because it also doesn’t work with es 3d2d shadow if it’s set below him in the mod order, just like with mighty. As for Ariff’s miles, I already do have him under ESU in my mod order. I have actually found one fix for the issue but it causes way more issues with a bunch of other mods. The fix was to put separate super/hyper sprites, ariff’s miles, and both falling sprites mods all above ESU and any es characters. This did fix the issue with Ariff’s miles but like I said before, it caused way more issues with a bunch of other mods. I suppose for now I’ll either get the SHC version or I’ll wait for the new updates of your characters to be released, I’m super excited to see them. Thank you so much for your input, and also good luck with Metal Sonic Kai, I can’t wait to see him in action eventually.
