DOWNLOAD Provides a lot more customization with the music that plays in certain Zones/events/menus, mostly based on various versions/builds of Sonic 3, allowing you to:- Play Angel Island 2’s music in the second half of Angel Island 1.
- Play the final Carnival Night music (either Act 1 or 2) during the lights-out section if you have the prototype music selected in the options.
- Play either Sky Sanctuary or Death Egg 2’s music in Hidden Palace. Two separate options are available to mix and match between the Zone itself and the Emerald Shrine Special Stage hub.
- Choose to not have the Zone music resume during the Zone transition cutscenes. This can be applied to all the Zones in the game or just Angel Island through IceCap like in Sonic 3 Alone.
- Choose your favorite Knuckles theme (or Angel Island’s music) to play during his intro cutscene.
- Fade out the boss music in Sandopolis 1 after defeating it and restart the boss music, like with most other Acts.
- Have the Lava Reef 2 boss music continue to play after defeating it, as in the original game.
- Restore an oversight from Sonic 3 Alone where the Act 2 boss music would play during the Hydrocity 1 boss.
- Restore a similar oversight from S3&K where the Act 1 boss music would play during Knuckles’ Marble Garden 2 boss.
- Choose your favorite boss music to play during the Flying Battery 2 Laser Trap “boss” sequence.
- Have the Hidden Palace Knuckles boss music play through the remainder of the Zone and the cutscene.
- Play the mini boss music instead of the major boss music when fighting the throwback bosses in Sky Sanctuary (turn off the Sonic 1 and 2 themes if you want to use this).
- Change the music that plays in Sonic’s post-Big Arm cutscene both during and after the results, or simply just have the boss music continue all the way throughout.
- Choose your favorite ending tracks to play during the ending and credits, or just have one track play through both of them. There are separate options for both Sonic/Tails and Knuckles.
- Mix and Match the two different continue/competition results/Blue Sphere menu tracks between these menus. There are also some extra tracks that can be played on the Competition Results screen.
- Choose your favorite track to play on the Blue Sphere Difficulty screen, including the Unused track and Gachapon Bonus Stage track.
Changes in v2.22: - Merged the two different versions of the mod into one that will load the appropriate scripts depending on your game version.
- Added option to use Sonic 2's Super music on the Blue Sphere difficulty screen.
- Fixed bug that prevented the lava from cooling in the Lava Reef 2 boss Act if the "Continue Boss Music" option is set.

For some reason with the latest test build, the animals in Knuckles' AIZ intro appear as a glitchy mess if you choose anything other than the S&K Knuckles theme.

For some reason with the latest test build, the animals in Knuckles' AIZ intro appear as a glitchy mess if you choose anything other than the S&K Knuckles theme. i think that’s with the way the cutscene script was setup, not sure on that though. AIR’s latest test build messes with the game’s data at that moment to make it display the correct animal buddies (if I’m not mistaken) and i’m not sure what grassman’s done to handle the Knuckles theme selection in the cutscene due to not looking in the code

The function that normally enforces Knuckles' S&K theme is the same one that was updated to change Mushroom Hill's squirrel to Angel Island's blue Flicky. MCC was using an older version of the function that did not feature these changes which resulted in the mangled squirrel. I've added a link to an updated version of the mod that uses the updated function. The updated function uses some new variables that previous versions of A.I.R. lack, so the old version of the mod is being kept alongside the new one for the time being.

I know this is very late, but I have a suggestion for this mod. My suggestion is choosing different music for the bonus stages. You can keep it default or where its played in the November 3rd prototype (The Gumball bonus stage will use the special stages music, the Magnetic Orbs will use the Slot machine music, and the Slot Machine bonus game will use the Gumball music.) And to keep the gumball and special stage music the same, can you also make a unique theme for it. It might seem I'm asking for a lot, but I'm not.

Love this mod, more customization can never hurt! I would like to ask though, do you think you could add an option to have the S3 final credits play in Hidden Palace a la Sonic 3 Complete? Edit: Found a mod that accomplishes this, sorry for asking

Nice mod, but have you considered adding an option to switch Knux's theme at the start of MHZ1? So I coukd have the proto theme for other encounters but the SK theme for when Knuckles does nothing to you

There are already mods out there that allow for both of these things to be accomplished. I have no plans to add similar features to this mod.
